ND Legislature to break for former governor's funeralBISMARCK — The North Dakota Legislature is pausing Thursday morning so that lawmaker's can attend the funeral of former four-term Gov. William Guy.
Guy died Friday from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was 93.
A memorial is slated Thursday at a Bismarck church, with a private burial to follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Guy served in the Navy during World War II.
Guy was North Dakota's longest-serving governor. He served from 1960 through 1972.
