2 Twin Cities-connected actors up for TonysMINNEAPOLIS — Two actors with Twin Cities connections are up for Tony Awards.
Eagan High School graduate Laura Osnes is nominated for best actress in a musical for her performance of the title role in "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella."
The Star Tribune reports it's the second nomination for Osnes. Last year she also was nominated for her lead role in "Bonnie & Clyde."
Osnes has performed at the Children's Theatre and starred in "Grease" at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.
Also nominated is Santino Fontana for his lead role in "Cinderella." Fontana is a 2004 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program and played "Hamlet" in the Guthrie's final production on its old stage.
The Tonys will be announced June 9 from Radio City Music Hall.
