FARGO – Charlie Musselwhite and Walter trout headline this summer’s Fargo Blues Festival, held Aug. 16 and 17 at Newman Outdoor Field.
The harp-playing singer Musselwhite was inducted into the blues Hall of Fame in 2010. Earlier this year he released the album “Get Up!” with guitarist Ben Harper. Musselwhite headlined the Fargo Blues Festival in 2002.
Before Musselwhite takes the stage at 9 p.m. on the 16th, Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials, Albert Castiglia, Daddy Mac Blues Band, Lisa Wenger Band play, with Blues Valley Band featuring T-Roy Anderson starting the day at 2.
At 8 p.m on the 17th, guitarist Walter Trout returns for his fourth set at the festival. Before him, Janiva Magness, Big James & The Chicago Playboys, Rusty Wright Band and Brandon Sprague Blues Band play after Deb Jenkins Blues Band kick things off at noon.
Early bird tickets are on sale for $30 for both nights, or $23 for each night. Backstage pass tickets are available for $80. A camping pass is available for $25.
