Dwight man injured in motorcycle crashABERCROMBIE, N.D. – A 61-year-old man from Dwight was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday near here, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.
The man, whose name wasn’t released, was riding south on Richland County Road 81 four miles south of Abercrombie at about 8 p.m. when the motorcycle went off the west shoulder of the paved road on a curve and into the ditch. The bike and rider came to rest in about 12 inches of water, the patrol said.
The rider suffered severe injuries and was not wearing a helmet, the patrol said. He was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo.
Another motorist came upon the crash some time later and called it in to 911.
The rider was cited for DUI and the crash remains under investigation, the patrol said.
Abercrombie is about 25 miles south of Fargo.
