Street conversion project starts MondayFARGO – The conversion of First Avenue North and NP Avenue downtown here to two-way streets will begin Monday.
Phase one of the project consists of minor lane closures on both roads between University Drive and Second Street North as crews install new traffic signals. Two lanes of traffic will remain open at all times during this phase.
By the project’s end in September, First Avenue North’s traffic flow will retain the middle and north lane as westbound lanes, while the south lane will be for to eastbound traffic.
NP Avenue’s middle and south lanes will continue to run east, but the north lane will be for traffic going west.
