Vet group to observe Loyalty Day WednesdayFARGO – Members of the VFW Post 762 will recognize Loyalty Day on Wednesday.
The nationally recognized day is meant for veterans groups to rededicate and care for a symbol of the community.
The Fargo VFW has adopted the Statue of Liberty on Veterans Memorial Bridge, and the organization will make a donation to the Fargo Park District to help maintain the monument.
The day also is meant to bring awareness of the need to retire tattered American flags.
The group will accept any flags and retire them at a later date. A retirement ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the VFW Post, 202 Broadway.
A dinner of hot dogs and beans will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
