Weekend watch: Exodus and The 4onthefloorFriday and Saturday
Usually it’s the Venue that’s the rocking room at The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S., but this weekend it’s the House of Rock. Thrash metal trailblazers Exodus never rose to the level of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth or Anthrax (though Kirk Hammett left the group to join Metallica), but the band is still banging heads, making a rare Fargo appearance Friday night. Tickets are $11 in advance, $13 the day of the show.
The 4onthefloor take the same stage Saturday night. The group hasn’t been around as long, but in their short time they’ve been on the road seemingly endlessly, which is why it’s a nice surprise they have a new CD, “Spirit of Minneapolis,” out. It’s more blues-stomping rock in 4x4 time, so save some head-banging for Saturday. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 the day of the show. Both shows start at 9 p.m. and are ID-only. (866) 300-8300.
