Property values climbing in Williston

WILLISTON, N.D. — Property values in Williston are still on the rise.

The Williston Herald reports that assessment numbers sent to property owners in the last week show little abatement in the climbing value of property in the Oil Patch city.

Residential properties are up between 15 to 35 percent in the city, while commercial properties are up as much as 10 percent.

Director of Tax and Equalization Shawna Gooch-Egge says that properties are selling for more than the city had assessed they were worth.

The increased property values have some residents worried that their property taxes will also increase. City officials say not to fret yet because those are "two separate issues."
