Letter: Walking to school important for kids

My family has two elementary-school-aged children, and we enjoy having a neighborhood school that is close enough to walk or bike to. The youngest was very disappointed when it became too snowy to ride bike last fall.

Fargo’s GO2030 initiative identified a number of key initiatives, one of which is to create neighborhoods where “children can walk to school.” This initiative came about through a process that solicited input from many Fargo residents over a long period of time.

If you feel that having schools within walking distance is important, let your school board and administration know.
