MSUM NEWS: The following students are taking part in the Minnesota State University Moorhead National Student Exchange program: Melinda Anderson, child of Marla Anderson, Fargo, University of Puerto Rico; Taylor Brenneman, child of Susan Brenneman, Fargo, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania; Aliesha Samek, child of Mike and Mae Samek, Moorhead, California State University, Chico; Rebecca Hahn, child of Laura Hahn, Moorhead, University of Hawaii, Hilo; and Brian Anderson, child of John Anderson, Fargo, University of Puerto Rico.

Minnesota State University Moorhead has awarded a $5,000 Achievement Scholarship to Krystal McNamee, child of Steve and Marcene McNamee, Argusville, N.D. The scholarship is based on college entrance exam scores and high school rank.

INTERNS AND PAGES: Elizabeth Denning, daughter of Jackie and Don Denning, Fargo, is currently a marketing intern at Studio One, an award-winning news program produced at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.

CHESS NEWS: The following students were winners at a recent chess tournament held at Cheney Middle School, West Fargo:

Kindergarten through third grade: Gavin Weinstein, first; Nicholas Parries, second; Jeb Gossett and Matthew Mondry, both third.

Fourth and fifth grades: Isaiah Soori, first; Rishab Advani, second; and Ryan Orth, third.

Sixth through eighth grades: Mason Roth, first; Allen Wu and Thomas Bye, second; Sawyer Kenney and George Pasche, third.

Ninth through 12th grades: Zach Hanson, first; Alec Witte and Keyan Farahmand, second; and Tyler Smith, third.
