Earth Day speaker scheduled at NDSU

FARGO – North Dakota State University’s Environmental and Conservation Graduate Student Organization will celebrate Earth Day on Monday with guest speaker Craig S. Criddle, professor of environmental engineering and science at Stanford University, who will present “Microbial Biotechnology for Sustainable Resource Recovery: Water, Energy and Materials” at 12:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Room of Nations at NDSU.

Criddle’s research team is developing the coupled aerobic-anoxic nitrous decomposition operation, a new process for nitrogen removal that generates energy from waste nitrogen by converting it to nitrous oxide.
