Two named Fargo assistant principals

FARGO – The Fargo School District named two new assistant principals Thursday for the 2013-2014 school year.

Greta Evenson will become an assistant principal at South High School.

Sean Safranski will become an assistant principal at Davies High School.

Since 2007, Evenson has been a high school English teacher at Fargo North and South high schools. She replaces outgoing Assistant Principal Jennifer Fremstad, who will become the new principal of West Fargo Sheyenne High School on July 1.

Evenson has served as summer school principal for South High School and Carl Ben Eielson Middle School since 2010, and as a basketball coach.

She is an alumnus of Concordia College. She began her career in 2004 teaching communications with the Willmar (Minn.) Public Schools.

Evenson holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Tri-College University through North Dakota State University.

Safranski is currently the principal of Shanley High School and Sullivan Middle School in the John Paul II Catholic Schools Network in Fargo.

He will replace outgoing Assistant Principal Marcy Blikre, who is retiring.

Safranski is an alumnus of the University of North Dakota. He began his education career in 1999 as an eighth-grade Earth sciences teacher for the West Fargo Public Schools. In 2004, he took the position of network admissions director for the Fargo Catholic Schools Network, now the JPII Catholic Schools.

During his time with JPII, Safranski served as the network’s curriculum director, and as school improvement coordinator.

He holds a master’s degree in education from NDSU.
