Dilworth VFW named rally point for VFW rideDILWORTH – Minnesota’s Veterans of Foreign Wars group will include the Albert E. Johnson VFW Post 1223 here as one of the rally stops during their weeklong “Ride for Healing” in late May.
The event is being planned to organize communities statewide to honor the service of Vietnam veterans and to raise money to build an Education Center at the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington.
The ride will begin Memorial Day at the state Capitol and culminate five days later on June 1 in the Brainerd Lake area with a two-day rally.
Four teams of motorcycle riders will make stops at VFW posts along the way to hold community events to honor and thank local Vietnam veterans.
The group will visit Post 1223 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. May 28 at 1505 Center Ave. W. in Dilworth.
