Doctors fix heart blockage on West Fargo police chiefWEST FARGO – West Fargo Police Chief Arland Rasmussen is recovering after open heart surgery Saturday morning at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
According to a statement from the West Fargo Police Department, Rasmussen felt discomfort in his chest Thursday evening. A visit to Sanford Emergency Center revealed blockage in his heart.
A bypass was performed Saturday morning and his family reports that Rasmussen made it through the surgery without issue and was recovering.
The family has asked that visitations be limited to allow the chief to rest.
The family thanks everyone for their concern.
