Barnesville offering construction incentivesBARNESVILLE, Minn. – This city is offering incentives for new home construction.
Barnesville will give a cash rebate on the first two years of full property taxes on homes built between now and Dec. 31, 2014.
The exact value of the incentive will be based on the assessed value of the new home.
For example, the owner of a $200,000 home would receive an estimated rebate of $5,400.
The tax incentive is in addition to a free utility incentive, which pays up to $1,500 toward utilities in the city for new homes.
There are 22 residential lots in the building for sale ranging in price from $500 to $6,500, plus four free building lots offered by the economic development authority.
Barnesville is 25 miles east of Fargo-Moorhead near Interstate 94.
