Foods event will highlight specialty cropsBISMARCK — A two-day conference that emphasizes locally grown foods and products in North Dakota will include a panel discussion on getting specialty crops to market.
The Dakota Grown Farmers Market and Local Foods Conference runs Friday and Saturday at the Bismarck Civic Center.
The agenda includes presentations on vegetable variety trials, social media, food processing rules, customer relations and tourism.
State Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow growers, processors and marketers.
The event is funded through a specialty crop grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It is open to the public.
