VIDEO: Two men arrested in Fargo convenience store robberies

FARGO – Two men were arrested for two convenience store robberies here early Friday morning.

Abdi Mohamed Abdi, 24, who has no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery, said Sgt. Jason Nelson.

Abdikhadar Mohamed Gelle, 20, of Fargo will be charged with one count of robbery, Nelson said.

The first robbery was reported at 5:04 a.m. at Petro Serve USA at 2110 S. University Drive.

Sgt. Bill Ahlfeldt said two suspects described as black males with their faces covered by scarves entered the store, demanded money from the clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second robbery, reported about 7 a.m. at West Acres All-Stop Convenience store at 3441 13th Ave. S., involved one suspect, described as a black male with a shirt covering his face. He ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. A police K-9 unit tracked his footprints to a location near a motel a short distance north of the store, where it appears he got into a vehicle, Ahlfeldt said.

In both cases, the suspects indicated they may have weapons, but it’s unclear if a weapon was displayed, Ahlfeldt said.

No one was hurt in the robberies.

Nelson said the two men were taken taken to the Cass County Jail.
