MSUM to host student conferenceMOORHEAD – Minnesota State University Moorhead will host the 15th annual Student Academic Conference from 9:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Tuesday in the Comstock Memorial Union.
More than 330 students representing 34 academic majors will present on topics such as marriage equality, trade policies, publicly funded stadiums, decision-making and the demand for abortion, violence in children’s films, nuclear security, media’s influence on gun control plus much more.
Ryan Sylvester, a mass communications and educational leadership graduate, will provide the keynote address.
Sylvester has worked for the U.S. Department of State, the Resettlement Legal Aid Project in Cairo, Egypt, and the Sierra Leone Mission to the United Nations. He earned a juris doctorate at Fordham University School of Law and now works for the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps.
