Letter: Fargo’s sandbag kids are heroesWe live in one of the few remaining houses left on Forest River Road near the Red River. I want to address the students and volunteers who have volunteered their time and efforts to fill and/or place sandbags over the past several floods.
I’m a Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, and I’m far from rich. Several times now, my house has been surrounded by overland flooding, most recently in 2011. Your efforts saved my home. To me, you are heroes.
Don’t believe the foul-mouthed clown of an entertainer who’s trying to steal and diminish your accomplishments. You should all be proud of your efforts. You are not slaves; you are heroes. I’m proud of all of you. Thank you.
