Fashion in Focus: Find feminine spring trends in Fargo-Moorhead
I found many of them right here in Fargo at two of my favorite boutiques.
Here are some of the outfits I put together at SHANNALEE in downtown Fargo and Hot Mama in the West Acres Shopping Center to keep your wardrobe fresh for spring.
Bring on the blazer
At Hot Mama, I paired a pretty gray and pink floral blouse with a black short, fitted blazer, dark denim skinny jeans and high-heel gladiator-style black wedges. I accessorized with skinny gold hoop earrings and a long drop pendant necklace.
The inspiration for many of the styles for spring/summer is based on feminine mixed with masculine touches. I love this look because it represents both the beauty as well as the strength a woman possesses.
In keeping with this vibe, the black wrap-around wedge contrasts this soft, feminine look with an edgy vibe.
When wearing a shorter cropped blazer, it’s chic to pair it with a flowy top that is longer than the jacket. Keep your look clean by making sure your top sits at the hip and is not too large or bulky underneath the jacket. This look is best with a skinny jean and a heel to keep your silhouette long and lean.
At Hot Mama, I paired a vibrant red blouse with the perfect-fitting white skinny cropped jean and accessorized with a pair silver hoops and a long multistrand metallic chain. I finished this effortless look with a pair of tan and black snakeskin gladiator sandals.
Cage-style shoes are a big look this season and are available in a wide array of styles from high heels to flats. Wear them with everything from dresses to jeans to update your wardrobe and give your outfits a modern twist.
Amazing in 'mod'
At SHANNALEE I found a '60s-style "mod" black and white shift dress with side pockets. I combined the comfortable dress with a pair of sexy black and white high-heels sandals and large silver hoop earrings.
This graphic look is simple and clean but makes a bold statement. You will be on point for the season in this easy-to-wear, striking black and white trend outfit.
Floral and denim
At Hot Mama, a sweet, romantic white floral blouse combined with a skinny light-wash cropped boyfriend jean and a natural-color high heel raffia wedge is the perfect trend-setting outfit. A tan belt with a metallic closure polished off the look.
The outfit is perfect for any occasion and is not only flattering and pretty but super-affordable.
Radiant in red
At SHANNALEE, I took a beautifully tailored black cropped jacket, paired it with a slinky black cotton tank and added a sexy pair of red skinny jeans for a splash of color. I accessorized the look with a pair of silver hoop earrings, metallic necklace and black pumps with a silver metallic tip.
Red is a major trend for spring, not to mention an instant confidence booster. The touches of metallic in the necklace and shoes add shine and fun to the outfit.
Bright and breezy
At SHANNALEE, I found an Audrey Hepburn-style classic shift dress in an uplifting shade of orange-red and added a scarf in sorbet-inspired colors. A white tote and sandals give the look a breezy feel for spring. The white cuff bangle and large-face timepiece added the perfect masculine touch to the outfit.
