Fargo K-9 tracks suspect long way to RV undercarriage

FARGO – Police here are praising a K-9 unit for tracking a suspect more than 2,000 feet and finding him hiding in the undercarriage of a large RV early Thursday morning.

Officer Dave Cochran and his police dog, Falco, were on routine patrol when Cochran noticed a suspicious vehicle. The suspect fled when he saw police, and a perimeter was set up, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Falco tracked the suspect for fourth-tenths of a mile and found him under the RV in the 4400 block of 25th Street North.

Scott James Bakke, 37, was arrested at 5:16 a.m. on suspicion of criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Sgt. Mike Erbes said.
