MARSHALL, Minn. — Schools are closing in southwestern Minnesota as a spring storm moves into the region.

KMHL radio (http://bit.ly/Z5TQOR ) says Marshall Public Schools are among those dismissing early as travel conditions deteriorate. The National Weather Service has issued a storm warning for southwestern Minnesota through Thursday.

Freezing rain is expected to change to sleet later Tuesday and then snow. Forecasters say most of the precipitation will fall as snow across western Minnesota, with a mixture of rain, sleet and snow across central and eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The highest snowfall amounts will be across the west where over 12 inches are possible, with 6 to 10 inches in east central Minnesota
