Garage fire quickly extinguished in FargoFARGO – Fire crews were able to keep a garage fire here from spreading to an attached twinhome Monday evening.
According to a press release from the fire department, crews found flames and smoke coming from the attached garage of a twinhome at 3593 Harrison St. S. when they arrived just before 5:30 p.m.
Only one person was home at the time of the fire. The resident smelled smoke and was able to get out of the house safely along with the family dog.
Smoke detectors were present but did not immediately go off, the release said.
The fire caused moderate damage to the garage, but the house only received light smoke damage. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
The fire started in the northwest area of the garage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
