Ex-Bison softball player gets probation in charges linked to party
Cassidy Szeredy, of Pittsburg, Calif., pleaded guilty in Cass County District Court to one count of harassment and one count of disorderly conduct, which are Class A and B misdemeanors, respectively.
Szeredy was sentenced to nearly a year of unsupervised probation and $500 in fines and fees. She was given a deferred imposition, meaning the convictions will not be on her public record if she successfully completes probation. She is also ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case.
Szeredy was accused of pushing, throwing punches at and shoving a player into a wall at the party, as well as sending text messages to that player of photos of her cut up.
Another player charged in the case, Alexandria Sobrero, pleaded guilty Feb. 6 to a Class A misdemeanor count of delivering alcohol to minors. Sobrero was sentenced to pay $300 in fines and fees and six months of unsupervised probation. She was also given a deferred imposition.
An NDSU spokesman confirmed Szeredy is no longer on the softball team. Sobrero is on the team’s 2013 roster.
