Four cited for ‘mudding’ north of MapletonMAPLETON, N.D. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is asking rural residents to report vehicles seen mud running after citations were issued to the drivers of a group of four vehicles caught tearing up township roads on Sunday.
“Now that we’re getting a little bit of melt going on and the frost coming out, that’s what’s going to happen,” Chief Deputy Jim Thoreson said.
The driver of one of the vehicles spotted “mudding” north of Mapleton around 5:30 p.m. Sunday was arrested for driving under suspension, Thoreson said. All four drivers were cited for care required.
Thoreson said the sheriff’s office plans to check with the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office to see if those caught tearing up rural roads can be charged with something more serious.
