Bemidji man seriously injured when he lost control of car on icy highwayWALKER, Minn -- A Bemidji man was seriously injured Saturday when he lost control of his car on an icy two-lane highway near here and was broadsided by a vehicle traveling toward him.
Johnathan M. Fairbanks, 26, was headed northbound on State Highway 371 when his 1995 Ford Taurus slid sideways near mile marker 103 and was broadsided by a southbound vehicle driven by 63-year-old Wayne M. Goldsmith and 61-year-old passenger Linda L. Goldsmith of Fosston. Their condition was unavailable in the report put out by the Minnesota State Patrol.
The accident happened around 12:19 p.m. Freezing rain was reported in the area about that time.
