Hot meals, bus rides offered for volunteersFARGO – The American Red Cross Minn-Kota Region is working with local restaurants to provide hot meals for volunteers during the lunchtime at Sandbag Central on odd-numbered days.
The schedule includes:
•Mezzaluna, pasta for 300 people today;
•Maxwell’s, 300 meals on Tuesday;
•Rhombus Guys, 45 pizzas on Thursday; and;
•Famous Dave’s, food for 300 people on April 13.
The Red Cross will also provide snacks, drinks and other food during this period. The Salvation Army will provide food for volunteers at Sandbag Central on even-numbered days.
Also, MATBUS will provide free rides for sandbagging and flood relief volunteers traveling to and from Sandbag Central.
Buses will transport volunteers to and from the West Acres mall fountain entrance in the JC Penney wing and Jitters Coffee Bar, 1414 12 Ave. N., Fargo.
Shuttles will depart every 20 minutes. Volunteers can call the volunteer hotline at (701) 476-4000 or log on to volunteer

Shuttles for Sandbag Central, 2301 8th Ave. N., are available from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. The last shuttles will depart the volunteer check-in sites at 6 p.m. There will be no shuttles Sunday when Sandbag Central is closed.
