Letter: Thrilled to be a resident of ND

I’m thrilled to be a North Dakota resident. Unlike Donna Gibb, of Fargo, I am grateful to know our leaders protect life. I do not want to be part of a society that chooses which children live based on their sex or genetic makeup. How does allowing mothers to abort babies of the undesired sex put women in the kitchen? How does requiring doctors who perform abortions to have hospital privileges force women to “stay home and cook the meals” as Gibb bemoans?

Our North Dakota legislators and Gov. Jack Dalrymple have stood up to hideous practices in which a child with a heartbeat can be aborted and the mother’s health can be placed below that of other patients. Women in North Dakota have freedom and choices, including the choice made before becoming pregnant.

The life bills are about protection of a separate life. That life has a heartbeat and deserves protection.
