Bison women track and field team ranked sixth in regional rankingsFARGO – The North Dakota State women’s track and field team is ranked sixth and the men’s team 11th in the initial Midwest Regional outdoor rankings conducted by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Bison women are behind Illinois, Kansas, Iowa State, Minnesota and Illinois State with four performers ranked in the top 30 in the country at their respective events. Pole vaulter Leslie Brost is tops at No. 14.
The NDSU men have 11 performances that currently rank in the top 100 in the country, led by Travis Fitzke in the 1,500-meter run. The Midwest Region includes all Division I schools in the states of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Dakota and North Dakota.
