Clay County sheriff confirms pilot IDHAWLEY, Minn. – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Saturday the identity of the Duluth pilot killed Friday in a small-plane crash south of here.
Friends and family had previously identified 48-year-old Kevin Ferris, known in the Duluth area as “The Rose Man” for his flower shop, as the victim of the crash.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, he was on his way to Moorhead to spend time with his parents, Michael and Sharon Ferris.
Federal investigators arrived Saturday to remove debris, and the crash remains under investigation.
