Letter: We have an obligation to take up the fightDear Gov. Jack Dalrymple:
With the stroke of your pen, my health care rights and privacy are gone. I pray you and your family never know the pain of a dangerous or high-risk pregnancy where the lives of multiple people hang in the balance.
I am stunned. I am truly stunned. I naively believed that you were a man of balance who would support the privacy of a woman’s health care. I naively believed that you would find this to be a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars. No one will remember the string of has-beens in the Legislature and how they voted. Your name, however, will always be associated with this pile of legislative garbage and a complete disregard of the health care rights of one-half of your constituency. We now know exactly who you are, sir.
I have an obligation to myself, my daughter, my sister, my friends to now take up this fight. And I will. I wish you and your crusader cronies all the best in the coming election cycles.
