Letter: Fan of capitalism strays from path

Bill Butcher’s opinion on March 17 on capitalism being the best system for prosperity left me baffled. One-third of his opinion was about a trip to Los Angeles to visit friends that I didn’t see as relevant to the opinion.

His friends: A retired FBI agent and others that are well placed in federal law enforcement harbor illegal aliens. And he had no doubt that strawberry pickers were illegal immigrants but thought the strawberries were absolutely delicious.

My opinion: His law enforcement friends are illegal friends; the strawberry pickers that he said were illegal even though he said he didn’t talk to them shows that we can question Butcher when he says “no doubt.”

I’m sure Butcher had a purpose for bringing his L.A. trip into the story but didn’t tell us why. Next time don’t leave us (or me) so baffled.
