Letter: Governor should sign pro-life billsWe applaud our North Dakota Legislature for passing some of the most pro-woman and pro-life health laws in our nation with the intent to uphold the sanctity of human life.
For all the criticism these bills have received from the secular media and pro-abortion supporters, these sources have failed to respond to the one question that defines why the good people of North Dakota are pursuing this type of legislation. The late U.S. President Ronald Reagan put it this way: “The real question today is not when human life begins, but, what is the value of human life? The abortionist who reassembles the arms and legs of a tiny baby to make sure all the body parts have been torn from its mother’s body can hardly doubt whether it is a human being. The real question for him and for all of us is whether that tiny human life has a God-given right to be protected by the law – the same right we have.”
The legislative assembly of North Dakota has done the right thing. They have worked to recognize, promote and defend the inalienable right to life of the unborn child in his mother’s womb and have sought the common good for all women. We respectfully encourage Gov. Jack Dalrymple to sign these pro-life bills into law.
