Tuesday tip: Salad in a Jar an easy way to take lunch to work
I love eating salad for lunch but hate the hassle of packing my lettuce, toppings and dressing in separate containers so the lettuce doesn’t get soggy.
But I recently read a Facebook post about Salad in a Jar that addresses my salad dilemma.
To keep your lettuce from becoming soggy, put your dressing into the jar first, then layer toppings like cheese, nuts, seeds, and other veggies between the dressing and the lettuce.
The Facebook post said to vacuum seal the Mason jars to keep your veggies crisp if you make a few salads at a time for the week.
Store the salad in your refrigerator for up to a week. When you’re ready to eat it, shake it up and dump it out onto a plate.
