Postal workers to rally against cutting serviceBISMARCK — North Dakota postal workers have planned a rally to oppose eliminating Saturday mail service.
Scott Boehm is president of the Bismarck National Association of Letter Carriers. He tells The Bismarck Tribune that the rally will start at 1 p.m. Sunday at the downtown Bismarck Post Office. The public is invited to attend.
Boehm says cutting Saturday mail will delay bills and invoices and may force customers to use higher-cost services. He says those most affected will be small business owners, seniors and rural residents.
The Postal Service has said eliminating Saturday service is necessary to save money.
