Letter: Unemployed veterans gettting the short endIt’s an economic graveyard for the men and women who fought in foreign countries for the red, white and blue. Salutes and colored ribbons and a pep talk on the way to file for unemployment or to take a cut in pay are not enough.
Everyone would like to hire vets, but vacancies are scarcer than a healthy hive of swarming honey bees. And going back in service is like nonsense from a jester, because no one is recruiting since the start of the sequester.
Ask any homeless veteran, or even actuary. They’ll tell you odds are better as a foreign mercenary.
