Cass-Clay Creamery is hosting its first Cass-Clay Hometown Throwdown recipe contest.
North Dakotans and residents of Clay County can submit recipes through May 18 that feature at least one Cass-Clay product for a chance to compete in a live cook-off and win a $5,000 cash prize.
Participants can submit recipes for breakfast and brunch foods, appetizers, side dishes or desserts. Entries will be accepted online or by mail to Cass-Clay Cook-Off Contest, PO Box 130250, St. Paul, MN 55113-0003.
Cass-Clay will narrow the field to 12 finalists for the cook-off event where four judges will select the winning recipe.

Kiefers.com acquires Kaarskoker brand
Kiefers.com has purchased the Kaarskoker brand, which will add more products to Kiefers ChanderlierParts.com website.
Kaarskoker manufactures a line of decorative candle covers for chandeliers and wall sconces.
Kiefers.com, based in Fergus Falls, Minn., also operates facilities in Fargo-Moorhead and Grand Forks and operates various e-commerce Web stores,including KieferAuctionSupply.com, AntiqueDealerSupply.com, The Closeout Channel, Gift Bag Warehouse, Fargo Signs, Vintage Trims and other specialized Web stores.
The company also acquired FRS Industries of Fargo, which manufactures award ribbons, rubber stamps, decals, signs, banners and other award recognition products.
Strategic HR topic
of educational luncheon
The Fargo Moorhead Human Resource Association will host an educational luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 2 at Ramada Plaza and Suites, Fargo.
The luncheon keynote address will be Strategic HR: A Results-Driven Perspective and will be available to students and FMHRA members free of charge, and to guests and nonmembers for $20.
An optional afternoon workshop, HR-ROI: A New Approach for the New Economy, will be available for $49 to students and members and $99 for guests and non-members.
