Moorhead students to hold sew-a-thonMOORHEAD – Yards for Youth, a team of Destination Imagination students taking part in ProjectOutreach, will hold a sew-a-thon from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church here.
ProjectOutreach is a Destination Imagination challenge that requires students to identify a community need and create and carry out a project to address it.
The Moorhead team’s goal is to sew 100 pillowcases that the team will donate to Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo. The pillowcases will be given to pediatric patients admitted for treatment and/or surgery.
The team is seeking donations of clean, fun fabrics or monetary donations to purchase fabric and thread. Each pillowcase takes a yard of fabric. Donations can be left at the main office of any Moorhead School District school.
Volunteers are asked to bring fabric if they’d like to join the event. Snacks will be provided. Contact team manager Laurie Johnson at
firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
