Fundraiser to benefit CF Foundation set for DilworthDILWORTH – Meagan Johnson of Audubon and her family are holding a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Wednesday.
From 5 to 8 p.m. the Dilworth Pizza Ranch will donate 25 percent of every sale to the fundraiser. Participants need to say they are there for the fundraiser when they arrive so their ticket will be marked for the donation.
Johnson’s daughter, Ciara, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis early through a newborn screening, said Ciara’s aunt, Michelle Hernandez of Moorhead, who is helping with the fundraiser.
Ciara will be 6 months old on Monday.
Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening disease passed down through families that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive tract, and other areas of the body, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
Ciara’s family is raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through this event and the Great Strides Walk May 4 “in hopes of raising money and awareness so that CF will stand for Cure Found one day,” Hernandez said.
Donations can also be made online by visiting www.cff.org and searching for the team, “Crusading for Ciara.”
