Arrest made in Williston shooting death

WILLISTON, N.D. – The man wanted in connection with a fatal Williston shooting has been apprehended in Billings, Mont.

Williston Police Capt. Tom Ladwig said Jonathan Peter Horvath, 46, was apprehended on foot by the highway patrol and taken into custody.

He will be held in Montana pending extradition to Williston.

Police suspect Horvath shot 28-year-old Derrick Spiegel of Williston early Saturday outside a strip club in Williston.

Spiegel, 28, Williston, died early Saturday after being shot after a verbal altercation in front of Heartbreakers strip club, police said.

The shooting occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Spiegel died shortly afterward at Mercy Medical Center.

Detective Cory Collings said police are releasing few details about the incident because they don’t want to compromise the investigation.
