Man arrested in stabbing death at oil crew camp

WILLISTON, N.D. – Williams County authorities say they’ve arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death of another man at an oil crew camp in North Dakota.

The Williams County Sheriff’s Office says it responded at about 4 a.m. Sunday to a report of a stabbing at the Capitol Lodge man camp, east of Ray.

Authorities say the victim, 32-year-old Christopher King, was transported by private vehicle to the Tioga Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect was apprehended at the Tioga hospital. Charges have not been filed.

Police say both the victim and the suspect are from Michigan. No further details were available.

This is the second homicide in as many days in the Oil Patch. A man was fatally shot outside a Williston strip club early Saturday morning.

The 28-year-old man was shot around 1 a.m. Saturday after a verbal altercation outside of the Heartbreakers strip club. Officers found him lying in the street and he died shortly afterward at Mercy Medical Center in Williston.

Police have not released the name of the victim or made an arrest in connection to the shooting. The shooter was described as a white male in his 40s with short, dirty blond to brown hair, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds.
