TAKING AIM: Women sound off on both sides of the gun control debate

The gun control debate has heated up in the wake of the school shooting Dec. 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

People on both sides of the issue are very passionate about their positions.

The percentage of women who report household gun ownership is at a record 43 percent, according to a 2011 Gallup poll.

Among gun owners, about 74 percent are men and 26 percent are women, Michael Dimock, Pew Research Center director, told NPR news.

The Forum interviewed two women who are outspoken on both sides of the debate to bring you their viewpoints.
