WF man charged with filing false WSI claimFARGO – A West Fargo man is charged with a felony after allegedly lying about being employed in a claim for worker’s compensation from the state of North Dakota.
Dustin Eck, 36, was charged Tuesday with one count of filing a false claim in Cass County Court, a Class B felony.
Court documents allege Eck filed a claim July 3 with Workforce Safety and Insurance, stating he’d been working for Fargo-based Cravens Concrete when he jumped off a trailer while hauling rebar and injured his right knee.
Court documents say WSI accepted liability for Eck’s injured knee and awarded payment of medical benefits for his treatments, then determined through an investigation that the owner of Cravens Concrete said Eck had not worked for him since 2008.
A warrant was issued Wednesday for Eck’s arrest.
