Permit issue postpones West Fargo hockey gun raffleFARGO – The West Fargo Hockey Association’s Gun Raffle banquet has been postponed due to permit issues caused by a change of venue.
The banquet, originally scheduled for March 15, was moved to the Great Hall banquet room at the Holiday Inn in Fargo after an increased anticipated turnout caused by media attention. The banquet has been rescheduled for April 13.
Because of the banquet’s move to Fargo, the hockey association needed to apply for a permit for games of chance.
The hockey association gained national attention for its gun raffle after the December massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
All 4,000 raffle tickets were sold. 200 participants will be drawn to win various firearms, or the grand prize of a 2013 Polaris Ranger.
