NDDOT issues travel alert for Fargo area, warns of slippery roadsFARGO – State officials have issued a travel alert in the Fargo, Wahpeton and Casselton areas due to poor winter driving conditions.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation issued the alert at 4:10 p.m., saying that blowing snow is sticking to roadways and causing areas of scattered slush, compacted snow and continuous ice. Wet roads may turn into ice as temperatures drop overnight.
Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speeds if needed.
A travel alert is in effect for many cities in eastern North Dakota, including Grand Forks, Jamestown, Valley City, Edgeley, Ellendale, Drayton, Cavalier, Cooperstown and surrounding areas.
