Purdue takes control, defeats Golden Gophers

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – D.J. Byrd and Rapheal Davis each scored 18 points as Purdue rolled past Minnesota 89-73 in men’s college basketball Saturday.

The Boilermakers (15-16, 8-10) won for only the third time in seven games as they head into next week’s Big Ten tournament.

Minnesota’s Andre Hollins scored 24 points, Rodney Williams added 13 points and Trevor Mbakwe finished with six points and 10 rebounds after playing fewer than five minutes in the first half with foul trouble.
