Minneapolis police investigate double homicideMINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis officials say the building where two men were shot to death and a third was wounded had been operating illegally as an “after hours” club.
Officers were called to the building in north Minneapolis about 3:30 a.m. Friday after shots were fired. Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty says 50 to 100 people were gathered there when the shooting occurred.
McCarty says one victim was found outside the building while the other was found inside. He says a third man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds.
City spokesman Matt Laible says the building had been operating as a club for some time in a neighborhood that's not zoned for clubs. Inspectors have issued at least three citations, including for illegally selling alcohol.
There was no immediate announcement of arrests.
