Letter: Gun background checks sensibleWhy would anyone who has a gun and has nothing to hide be against background checks for gun buyers? Isn’t that what we said about people “on welfare” when we were talking about doing drug tests on them: “if you have nothing to hide ...”?
Why would the NRA be against it? They would be held in much higher esteem and would be more credible about curtailing gun crimes if they wanted criminals to have background checks. They are doing just the opposite. Sounds like they want more crimes committed with guns. Now does that make sense?
Which way do Sens. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., and John Hoeven, R-N.D., think, now that this is up for a vote in the Senate?
