NDSU's Lillejord sits in 10th place in NCAA heptathlonFAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In his first national meet appearance, North Dakota State’s Andy Lillejord sits in 10th place through the first four events of the heptathlon at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Meet.
Lillejord, a junior from Jamestown, N.D., racked up 3,149 points today – 50 more than his previous first-day total. He posted the second-fastest 60-meter dash time (6.98 seconds) and placed fifth in the long jump (24 feet, .75 inches) in addition to competing in the shot put and high jump.
Kevin Lazas of Arkansas leads the heptathlon with 3,449 points. Lillejord sits 38 points out of eighth place, which is good for All-American status.
The heptathlon concludes Saturday with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000-meter run.
