CVB to induct Irish singer O'Donnell into Walk of Fame tonight, but Rodman will have to wait
But former NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman will have to wait.
O’Donnell, a household name in Ireland who has sold more than 10 million records, is in Fargo this weekend for a Prairie Public Television pledge drive. He’ll appear live during the broadcast of his newest TV concert, which airs tonight at 8.
At 7:30 p.m., he’ll put his hands in cement at the Prairie Public Television Studio, becoming the 117th member of the Walk of Fame at 2001 44th St. S., near the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau visitor’s center.
Rodman, recently in the news for a “goodwill” trip to North Korea, is also in Fargo tonight and Saturday to judge the finals of the Liquid Ice Girl competition at JT Cigarro.
Charley Johnson, CVB president, said this morning that staff simply didn’t think of adding Rodman to the attraction while he was in town.
“It was just an oversight,” Johnson said.
He added that it’s too late to schedule something for Rodman, citing the logistics of the event.
“I hope Dennis doesn’t feel slighted,” Johnson said. “Maybe the next time he comes to town. We’d love to have him in there.”
